I'm not a complete Democrat hater. Afterall, my maid-of-honor and bestest friend is such a raging D that she called me three months after she got married to tell me that she had discovered that her husband was registered as a [gasp!] Republican! True story, "I feel dirty!" Now we joke that she probably would have had an easier time dealing with adultery. Our friendship has made managed to make it over 15 years and we've always been on opposite sides of the aisle.
So in an effort to appease one of my [only? lol] readers and demonstrate that Republicans are not all full of criticism, I will post about things that Democrats are doing that I applaud or agree with. I thought I've been doing this all along, but evidently it hasn't been as obvious.
So here is a partial list of what has been going right lately:
Walt Minnick's efforts and intent are definitely applaudable.
Executive salary caps are good.
Senator Ben Nelson.
Gov. Paterson ignoring the Kennedy family and appointing Gillibrand.
Obama's selection of Steven Chu as Secretary of the Department of Energy.
I hope that is sufficient to my Obama voting reader. I'm not going to lie, I'm not hopeful about much of this new administration, otherwise, I would have voted for it.

I couldn't stay away, dangit! Your site has such a great name it's hard to forget.
This is a nice post - thanks for pointing out some decent choices made by the Dems.
It appears everyone is all geared up for 2010. Some GOP already have tv ads out for 2010 stating they voted against the stimulus bill and it will do nothing to help the country. Dem pollsters are already talking of how this bill will win them more seats in 2010. I guess we'll see how things pan out over next 20 months.
Can't you feel the post-partisan love? :)
Politics is fun and it's even more fun when you've got people with whom you disagree to debate.
